life

Sometimes I feel like a failure.

About two weeks ago I came home from work and just started crying.  Do you ever do that?  Not normal crying, it was more like 'I can barely breathe and just made myself throw up over the sink from crying so hard' crying.  The kind where you bury your face in the pillow and just let it all out and your pillow turns black from your mascara and gets soggy from all your tears and drool and spittle.  I couldn't handle life anymore that day.  Living on your own is tough and I won't pretend that I handle it well all the time.  I have my days.

Saturdays & Peanut Butter Cookies

Get a load of these!  Fresh from the oven! mmmmmm

Hey, what else are you suppose to do on a lazy Saturday afternoon with no where to go and on one to hang out with?  I was having a sweet tooth attack and can't afford to go grocery shopping so I opted to make cookies instead of run to the store for some chocolate :)  Worth all twenty minutes :)

In other life news, I was checking out the barefoot-executive.com today and heard what sounded like a gunshot outside my apartment window. So I go to the window to see what's going on.  I see some kid trying to sneak out through our fence and then one of the guys in the apartment below me runs outside, phone in hand, and is yelling across the parking lot at this kid to "stop right there, I saw what you had!" OMG WHAT DID HE HAVE?

My eyeballs are glued to the window and the kids sticks his arms up out to his side and starts walking over to his guy all  bad-a like and they start talking.  I couldn't hear what they were saying.  The kid walks away after a few minutes and my neighbor goes back inside.

Then later I hear more talking outside my window and the guy (my neighbor) was outside describing what had happened to a cop!  Eeeh he must have had a gun right?  So scary.  I don't like this whole living alone thing, but at least I have concerned neighbors who seem to care about what goes on around here. That makes me feel a little better.  Eh, wish Luka barked more... I'll have to train that.

Ok, back to munching on my cookies!

How to know when to call it quits

Ok ladies, sometimes the hardest thing for us to do as beautiful, smart, sexy and  independent women is to realize that some one just isn't that into us.  I mean, why wouldn't some one want to be with beautiful you every second of the rest of their lives?  Well, I don't know the answer to that question, but I do know how to spot some one who just isn't feeling it like you are.   And since I've JUST gone through this YET again, I'm posting a handy dandy little list below.  PLEASE don't fool yourselves, you're to beautiful and amazing to be wasting your time with some one who doesn't fully appreciate you.  If you can relate to anything below, sorry, but it is most likely time to move on.

1. You're wondering if you should call it quits

Basically, if you're thinking it might be over, it probably is.  Yes strange circumstances come up.  People are stressed and busy.  But guess what, people will always be stressed and busy!  You're always going to have a job, responsibilities, places to go and things to do.  If a guy is using those things as an excuse not to see you, he just doesn't like you that much.

2. You have to wonder if he likes you
Pretty similar to the above.  If a guy really likes you, you won't have to wonder.  He'll be sure to make his feelings known to you in order to eliminate the risk of you misunderstanding and moving on.  He won't be too busy.  He may have a really busy schedule, but if he likes you he'll make time for you.

3. You start calling, texting, emailing him first
Tough one.  It's hard for us girls to resist the urge to take charge and be leaders in this day and age.  We've grown up as empowered women, we've been taught that to get the things we want in life we have to stand up and take them!  No one's going to do it for us!  Yet when it come to calling guys in a dating relationship, things are still old-school.  Women may have gained civil rights but men have not lost their hunter-like instincts.  They still like the chase, they need it in order to feel like successful hunters!  So if a guy you're dating, who's always been the first to call stops calling, he's probably lost interest and stopped chasing for some reason which has led to you calling him first.  This is not going to win him back, in fact it'll just push him further away since you're no longer something he can't have.  If you throw yourself at someone, you're most likely going to get thrown right back.  Cut your losses and move on.

4. You spend Friday and Saturday nights alone
If a guy really likes you, he won't risk you spending prime date night real-estate with another guy.  If he really likes you he'll call early in the week to book those all important nights with you before anyone else snatches you up first.  If this isn't the case, he doesn't really like you.  You may actually even be a last resort, and who wants to be that!?  Don't settle girls!  You deserve better!  So if he hasn't made plans with you by Thursday or early Friday, MAKE OTHER PLANS!  Don't wait around for the chance that he might still call when it's 8:00pm  on a Friday night.  Get out there and meet some one new!

5. You found this article through Google
If you stumble across this article because you were searching google for how to know if you should call it quits, please refer to numbers 1 or 2 above.  :)  You shouldn't have to be searching for articles like this if you're in a healthy relationship.  Your guy will make sure you know that he's into you.  If he's not, then, he's not into you.

Desire

I've been nursing this soup for about an hour now because I keep getting distracted with twitter, and my dog has not left my lap the entire time!  True dedication!  I think I'm going to submit this one to http://icanhascheezburger.com/.  I can see it now, "I can haz a wittle sample?"

So, does your dog ever do this while you're eating at your desk?

Edit:  it's official, the lolz haz been created! link: http://mine.icanhascheezburger.com/view.aspx?ciid=2682898

My Bucket List

Phew! I feel like I've been so busy lately! Problem is I can't really say what I've been doing! lol. I haven't posted an actual blog post here in a while, yet if feels like I just posted yesterday! It feels like the election happened just yesterday, but it's already the 16th! Geez! Some one tell time to slow down! I'm gonna get old really fast at this pace, and there's still so much I want to do before I die. Speaking of which, I'd been meaning to write down my bucket list for a while now, so I guess this would be a good time to do it!

Holly's Bucket List

  • See the Aurora Borealis
  • Visit Japan
  • Go flying in a Fighter Jet
  • Scuba Diving someplace tropical
  • See a million dollars in my checking account
  • Change/save some one's life
  • Find true love
  • Mediterranean Cruise

I'll keep adding to that list as I think of stuff, I'm just glad to get it recorded down somewhere that I'll be able to find it again. Yeah, sure some of that stuff sounds impossible, even unreasonable maybe. What can I say? I dream big, always have and always will. It's what got me my first career as an animal trainer, and now my second as a website developer. Never thought I would actually achieve those things but I did so who knows what the future could bring!
