Wow! What a crazy crazy day today! I feel like there was this intense buzz about the atmosphere all day, causing all kinds of havoc on my life today!
So this morning I woke up and went to cast my vote at the polls. I haven't been a supporter of either Obama or McCain during this election as there's things about both of them that scare the crap out of me! I just simply couldn't bring myself to place a check by either of their names so I voted Libertarian : ) I still voted, it wasn't wasted, but I won't feel guilty about what happens to the country if either one of them sends it further down the drain than it already is. Maybe that's me not being a brave, decisive american and taking a stand. Sorry, I'm a Libra, we're very indecisive people by nature. : )
But I was on twitter and cnn.com all night watching everything as it was happening and I must say it was so much fun and SO exciting! I love how passionate people were for their candidates this election! Record poll numbers! Go us! I'm happy with the results as I didn't have a strong bias towards either candidate. We'll see what happens now. Part of me was wondering yesterday if the world was going to end as soon as a new president was elected. It didn't, I'm still here, I have a roof over my head and some food in the pantry. Life is good : P Watching the footage on cnn of the hundreds of thousands of people that turned out for the rallies, all waving american flags, truly brought tears to my eyes. We are NOT as divided as our current leaders have led the world to believe. We CARE! We are not ignorant nor will we stand by and watch our country fall apart. We the people took a strong stand tonight and it was both humbling and uplifting to witness. I will proudly tell my children about this historic night, (should I ever have any) and I am so honored to be contributing a part of this nation's history.
Small note to all my fellow "christian" friends out there who are so distraught over the results of this election. Please remember that it is not our jobs to judge, to look down on others for any reason, physical or philosophical. There is only one judge in this world and you know who He is. He is in control over ALL things and has told us never to worry about anything, but in all things give thanks! Our assurance does not rest in our chosen leaders of this world, but only in Him and Him alone. So quit threatening to move to Mexico, bidding farewell to Israel and crap, He has placed you right HERE at this very point in time for a reason and He has appointed Obama as our country's leader so be content in this. He is still in control! Praise God!
I'm excited to see what the future brings, as it will most undoubtedly be different from what we've seen the last 8 years. Some will be for the better, and possibly some changes I won't agree with as well. Either way it's progress and I know God has a plan. His plans are awesome too! I've seen what beauty he's brought out of my own mess of a life, let's see what he can do with this mess of a country!
Wonderful
